Liberty Baptist revival services Oct. 12 -16

Liberty Baptist Church will have an October Revival at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, through Saturday, Oct 15, at the church which is located at SR 235 and CR 20 north of Ada.

Pastor Lon Taylor said the revival will continue on Sunday, Oct. 16, during Sunday School at 9:30 a.m., the worship service at 10:30 a.m., followed by a carry-in dinner and an afternoon service.

There will be no Sunday evening service this Sunday.
Pastor Ron Blair of Bonnieville, Ky., will be the evangelist for the revival series. All are welcome.

First Baptist Church celebrates 150 years in Ada

Congegration first met Oct. 2, 1866

The First Baptist Church of Ada celebrated its 150th anniversary Sunday during the morning worship service, followed by a dinner.

The church's first gathering was on Oct. 2, 1866, at a meeting in the Union Church (now First Presbyterian Church of Ada) to organize a Baptist church.

Several former pastors will return for the service

On Sunday, Oct. 2,  First Baptist Church, Ada, celebrates 150 years of ministry, according to Jack Duffy, pastor.

On Sunday a worship service of singing hymns and communion take place at 10:15 a.m. followed by a barbecue chicken and pulled-pork dinner.

Several former pastors will attend the service. These include Bob Cassidy (1988-1990), Charles Spier (1963-1968) and Byron Hawbecker (interim 1991-1992). Former ONU students who attended will be coming as well.

ALIVE@5 service begins at First United Methodist Church

The Ada First United Methodist Church has begun a second service, this one at 5 p.m. on Sunday evenings. Here, the praise team begins this week's service held in the sanctuary. Prior to the service, a light supper is served in fellowship hall, pizza this week. About 90 people have attended each of the first two services, called ALIVE@5. (Monty Siekerman photo)

Judy Kipker wins First United Methodist Church quilt
