Alger United Methodists dedicate Community Outreach Center

Congregation will expand its community programming

Alger United Methodist Church held a dedication and blessing of a Community Outreach Center following the Sunday morning worship service.

Here, Pastor Andy Burns, and Melissa Moore, chairperson of the outreach board, stand by the sign that marks the center at North Main and Place Street.

The Neighbor to Neighbor center has been an active place since it first opened in May. For example, More than 100 local families receive free food there each month from the West Ohio Food Bank.

Some other programs, now beginning or in the planning stage, include community meals, Bible study groups, clothing ministry, youth activities, and community group usage. The new $60,000 building was constructed on a lot in the heart of town.
