You don’t have to be a toddler in love with big trucks to be fascinated by the sight of building demotion. A two-story home at 615 S. Main St. was demolished on June 24. The property is owned by Ohio Northern University, which purchased the home in 2006 for $125K. 

JUNE 23 VILLAGE OF ADA NOTICE__Throughout the Summer due to extreme heat Rumpke trash collection could start as early as 4:30 a.m.

Please be sure you are placing your trash and recycling curbside the night before your service day.

Following severe thunderstorms with heavy winds on Wednesday, June 18, the greater Ada area was still dealing with some power outages as of 8:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Village of Ada has removed or moved several downed trees and limbs on roadways.

Public Works will continue cleanup efforts throughout the day, June 19. Ada residents may use the Village green waste site at 514 E. Lincoln Ave. to dispose of branches or place them in a pile near the road.

The Village asks that piles be placed parallel to the road to help crews efficiently and safely remove and chip the limbs.

JUNE 10 MEDIA RELEASE__The Ada Exempted Village School District is among thirty-one governments, businesses, schools, and nonprofits in northwest Ohio receiving a total of $1.2 million in Recycle Ohio Grants. Funding will provide litter prevention and cleanup programs, education and outreach, scrap tire collections, recycling market development, and expansion of recycling facilities and infrastructure.

An electricity provider contract has been made for the Village of Ada aggregation program and residents who are not enrolled in a program were sent the attached May 23 letter from Dynegy on behalf of the Village.

The letter provides the contract rate and terms:

  • 9.45 cents per kWh
  • Term ends December 2026

Customers may choose to opt out of the aggregation program and are asked to notify Dynegy by June 13.
