Really BIG check presentation from Ada Elementary to Ada Food Pantry

Readers at Ada Elementary School made a really big check presentation to the Ada Food Pantry on May 3. Not only did the check reach from the readers’ knees to their chins, it also gifted a whopping $2,893.00 to the local nonprofit organization.

May chamber meeting is an evening mixer

The May 2023 Ada Area Chamber of Commerce membership meeting will be an evening social rather than an early bird breakfast. Members are invited to the patio at The Inn at Ohio Northern University on Wednesday, May 17 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. 

Organizers note, "We will be sharing details of our summer events and hear updates from our members who attend."

Among details expected is a preview of the upcoming May 18-20 Summer Sidewalk and Community Garage Sales event.

May 15 S.A.F.E.R. Alert

On Monday, May 15, the Ada Police Department issued the following S.A.F.E.R. Alert on Facebook:

Ada, recently we have taken a few reports where outbuildings have had items stolen from them. Just as a reminder please try to keep all buildings secured and if possible, well lit.

As always please do not hesitate to report suspicious activity to the Ada Police Department.

Last chances to browse Retro Music

You have two more weeks to browse the stock of vinyl LPs and 45s, CDs, and sound systems, including store-closing specials, at Ada's Retro Music at 4171 OH-235. Owner Chad Smith told the Icon that he will still be doing record shows and can be contacted at 419-235-1655, but that the store will close at the end of May 2023.
