Daniel J. Klingler was a writer and athlete

Daniel J. “Danny” Klingler, age 27, of Avon Lake, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. 

He was born on October 30, 1995 in Lima, Ohio to Todd and Melissa (Wolber) Klingler, they survive in Ada. 

Danny is survived by his two siblings: Autumn (Josh) Clements of Bluffton and Levi (Laura Fernandez) Klingler of Cleveland. He was the proud uncle to his nephew and niece: Owen and Jane. Also surviving are his maternal grandparents: Jerry and Lois Wolber; and paternal grandfather, Larry Klingler of Ada. 

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Carol Klingler. 

Danny was pursuing a writing career. He was planning an epic fantasy series, and dreamt of sharing his own story with others. During his junior year at Ada High School, he competed for best short story in the 2013 Interclass writing competition. After high school, Danny completed an Associates Degree in Human Services at Rhodes State College.

He was also an accomplished athlete, winning state medals in the wheelchair 100, 400, and 800 meter dashes while attending Ada High School. He also played on a nationally ranked traveling wheelchair basketball team out of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He was was voted MVP of his team, The Turnstone Flyers. During his middle school years, he also dabbled in wheelchair tennis and ice hockey.

Danny loved to cook and try out new recipes, and was known as the most adventurous eater of the family.

Memorial services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the Liberty Baptist Church, 2995 County Road 20, Ada, Ohio with Pastor Don Ayers officiating. 

Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service on Saturday, October 7th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church.
