ArtSpace/Lima photography exhibit opens January 7

ArtSpace/Lima will host the annual Juried Photography Exhibition from January 7-February 4,  2023. The exhibition features artists from around the region with over 100 works on display. Photographers from Ada Icon and Bluffton Icon readership areas include Wendy Chappell-Dick, Jake Collins and Rae Staton.

The  photography exhibit has cash awards for Best of Show, First, Second, and Third Place, Black and  White and Color Award, Youth Category, and an ArtSpace Award.

The opening reception will be on Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. The awards announcement will  take place at 7:15 p.m. 

Office closed, special meeting cancelled for Kenton Hardin Health Department board

The special board meeting that was scheduled for the Kenton Hardin Health Department on December 27 has been cancelled.

The office is closing as well for the day.

Artspace/Lima and Johnny Appleseed Metro Park District collaboration

On Tuesday, December 20, ArtSpace/Lima will highlight its partnership with the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District (JAMPD) with two events.  

Beginning at 5:00 p.m., there will be a reception for the winning photographers from the JAMPD  photography contest. The work is currently on display and will remain up until December 31.

Astronomy Club meets December 14

The next Hardin County Astronomy Club meeting will be held December 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Courthouse in Kenton in the Veteran's Meeting Room. 

Topics for the meeting will be the Artemis missions to the moon and the constellation Lacerta.

DIY NATURE - CONSTELLATION PICTURES
Register by December 9

On Tues., Dec. 13 at 7:00 p.m., the Johnny Appleseed Metro Park District will offer DIY Nature - Constellation Pictures at the McElroy Environmental Education Center, 2355 Ada Rd., Lima.

The invitation: “Learn about the constellations in the night sky and the stories that are behind  them. We’ll then create a constellation picture that can light up and take it home.  No need to dress for the weather, we’ll be indoors for the entire program.”
