Ada Schools host 2022 "Music Feast" on November 12

By Paula Scott

  • Ada's Varsity Singers perform at 2:45 p.m.

For over 40 years, the Ada Schools have been hosting Music Feast, a competition for show choirs. The event started with Lynn Knoble in the ‘70s and has grown to be one of the "kick off" show choir competitions in Ohio. It is a “music feast” for the ears and, with the help of the Ada Music Boosters, feeds all the performers.

On Saturday, November 12, the 2022 edition will include daytime performances from 9:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m., with the Ada Varsity Singers appearing at 2:45 p.m. Daytime awards will be presented at 4:00 p.m.

In the evening, final performances will take place from 6:00-9:15 p.m., ending with awards. (Schedule attached)

Show choirs are musical ensembles that combine choral singing with choreographed dancing. Ada vocal music teacher Scott Henning explains that show choirs feature “high school students musically gifted with good voices, dance ability. They essentially put on a mini musical.”
