Claypool named interim superintendent

In the Ada Athletic Boosters cornhole tournament at the September 18 Harvest and Herb Festival, Tony Archer and his son Tyler took home the prizes and bragging rights, as the best of 38 teams.

100th birthday card shower invitation

Ada resident Hilda Mumma celebrates her 100th birthday on Tuesday, September 28. Ada First United Methodist Church invites Icon viewers to participate in a card shower for her.

Ada girls run in county meet

Two Ada girls competed in the Hardin County Invitational cross country meet Tuesday evening, September 21, at Riverdale.

Ada sophomore Elsie Allen finished 13th in a time of 27:23. Bulldog sophomore Jillian Hazelton came in right behind her in 14th place with a time of 27:30.

"Both girls did well," said Ada head coach Josh Klein. 

Allison Woodruff of Riverdale crossed the finish line first in the 22-runner field with a time of 20:42.

Kenton won the girls team title with 16 points as the Wildcats claimed three of the top five spots. Hardin Northern took second with 45 points. 

Rebecca A. Brown worked for Scotts Lawn Care

Rebecca A. Brown, age 64, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 5:14 PM at Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on February 4, 1957 in Lima, Ohio to the late Ernest F. Boutwell and Linda K. (Baker) Boutwell Cramer.

She is survived by her two daughters: Erin Bagan of Lima and Abby (Josh) Lenhart of Marysville; five grandchildren: Mackenzie Brown, Dustin Lenhart, Kennedy Lenhart, Reece Bagan and Taye Bagan; two great grandchildren: Kasen and Juneau; two brothers: Jeffrey (Inez) Boutwell of Ennis, TX and Timothy Boutwell of Lima; and two sisters: Janis (Steve) Marshall of Ada and Kathy (Randy) Ackerman of Harrod.

Lady Bulldog match postponed

The Ada girls soccer match scheduled at home vs. Cory-Rawson for September 22 was postponed due to rain.

No makeup date has been set yet for the match.

The Bulldog girls (2-5-1, 0-1-1 NWC) visit defending NWC champion and league-leader Bluffton (6-2-1, 4-0 NWC) Monday, Sept. 27.
