Ada girls run in county meet
Two Ada girls competed in the Hardin County Invitational cross country meet Tuesday evening, September 21, at Riverdale.
Ada sophomore Elsie Allen finished 13th in a time of 27:23. Bulldog sophomore Jillian Hazelton came in right behind her in 14th place with a time of 27:30.
"Both girls did well," said Ada head coach Josh Klein.
Allison Woodruff of Riverdale crossed the finish line first in the 22-runner field with a time of 20:42.
Kenton won the girls team title with 16 points as the Wildcats claimed three of the top five spots. Hardin Northern took second with 45 points.
Ada and Riverdale did not have the requisite five runners to field a team score.
Kenton also won the boys team meet with 31 points. HN finished a close second (36), while Riverdale came in third (66).
USV's Joe Parker won the 30-runner boys race in 17:53, but the Rams did not have enough runners for a team score.
The Ada boys were unable to compete.
"All of my boys are either fighting injury or sickness," Klein said.
Ada is slated to run in the 42nd annual, 18-team Van Wert Health CC Invitational Saturday morning, September 25.
