Ada golfers 7th at NWC tourney

The Ada golf team finished seventh at the nine-team Northwest Conference championship tournament Friday, September 25, at Moose Landing Country Club in Ottawa.

The NWC meet was postponed by rain and cold Thursday.

Lincolnview beat NWC regular season champ Allen East by 10 strokes, 338-348, to win the league tournament crown.

Bluffton was a close third (349), followed by Columbus Grove (367), Leipsic (368), Delphos Jefferson (385), Ada (411) and Crestview (417). Spencerville did not post a team score.

Junior Geddes Klingler led the Bulldogs with an 18-hole score of 50-52=102.

Community choir and music instruction opportunities

Noteworthy Community Choirs (NCC) and Vicki's Music Studio, 2613 SR 81, are accepting registrations through October 1, 2021. Opportunities include Early Childhood music classes and NCC choirs.

AE beats Ada spikers

Visiting Ada battled hard but was swept by backyard rival Allen East in a Northwest Conference volleyball clash Thursday evening, September 23.

The Lady Bulldogs dropped to 1-11 overall and 0-3 in the NWC with the 25-17, 25-9, 25-23 defeat.

The Lady Mustangs improved to 10-3 and 2-1 in league play with the win. 

Ada junior Courtney Sumner hustled up 14 digs, served three aces and came up with two blocks.

Bulldog sophomore Daicy Robinson knocked down three kills and added three blocks. Sophomore Josie Phillips hustled up 10 digs. 

Sophomore setter Autumn Andreasen passed out nine assists. 

Henderson receives inaugural pharmacy award

Dr. Metta Lou Henderson, a retired Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy faculty member, recently received an inaugural award, named after her, that recognizes excellence in academic members, from Kappa Epsilon (KE), a professional pharmaceutical fraternity celebrating its centennial anniversary this year.

Dr. Henderson received the first Dr. Metta Lou Henderson Award for Excellence in Academia at KE’s virtual convention held in August. Steven Martin, Pharm.D., ONU College of Pharmacy dean, presented the award in person to Henderson at her home in Tucson, Arizona.

General Election voting begins October 5

Early voting for the November 2, 2021 General Election in Hardin County, Ohio, begins October 5, 2021 in the Board of Elections office. Sample ballots for the Village of Ada can be viewed here:
