ADA - The host Ada baseball team built a big lead and held off a late Fort Jennings comeback attempt to win 7-5 Wednesday evening in a non-conference contest.
The Bulldogs snapped a five-game losing skid and improved to 6-10 following the win. The Musketeers dropped to 3-14 with the defeat.
Ada scored three runs in the home second to take the early lead and never trailed. FJ plated two runs in the top of the third to pull within a run.
The Bulldogs seized control with a four-run fifth frame to build a 7-2 cushion.

Five candidates have filed for four open spots on the Ada village council in the Nov. 2 general election, according to the Hardin County board of elections.
Robert Simmons, Republican, and Sean Beck, Democrat, filed prior to the Feb. 3, party filing date.
Jeff Oestreich, Noah Ristau and Jason Campbell have filed prior to the May 3, independent filing date, to fill out the ballot.
One additional opportunity to be on the ballot is to file as a write-in candidate. The deadline for write-in candidates to be recognized by the board of elections is Aug. 23. However, write-in candidates’ names will not be on the ballot.
All Ohio Northern University Commencements on May 8 and May 9 will move indoors due to an unseasonably inclement weather forecast.
“When we made the decision to hold in-person commencements outdoors, rain or shine, that made sense until a few days ago when the forecast for Sunday, May 9, predicted very steady wet and cold conditions could negatively impact both ceremonies on that day. Obviously, it was time to reconsider ‘rain or shine,’” explains President Daniel DiBiasio.
