Empowering women to fight overpopulation

Make yourself aware of these issues, especially when the effects of the problem are more severe in other countries, especially as we are disproportionately responsible for the problem

Recently, a lovely person who reads my work on the Icon sent me a thoughtful article. While the article was written over a decade ago, it is still relevant. It tackles open discourse about overpopulation.

I decided to relay my main takeaways and add some of my own thoughts and some other resources. I made sure to find more current statistics than those used in the article. Anna Shulaw will celebrate her 100th birthday May 16

The family of Anna Shulaw is celebrating her 100th birthday with a card shower and open house on Sunday, May 16.

Cards may be sent to Anna at 1822 State Route 81, Ada, Ohio 45810. The open house is from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Ada Park community center, corner of Simon Street and North Park Drive.

No gifts please, and CDC covid guidelines will be followed.

Bulldogs travel to Spencerville today

ADA - The homestanding Ada baseball team fell 12-2 to league-leading Lincolnview Thursday evening in a Northwest Conference battle.

The Bulldogs fell to 6-11 and 1-6 in the NWC following the defeat. The fourth-ranked Lancers improved to 14-4 and 6-0 in the NWC with the win.

Lincolnview scored in all five iunnings of the run-rule shortened contest. They put five runs on the board in the top of the first frame and never were threatened.

ADA - The Ada softball team was hanging with league unbeaten Lincolnview until an 11-run outburst in the sixth paved the way for a 17-3 Lancer victory in Northwest Conference softball action on a drizzly Thursday evening.

Leading 6-3 after five frames, the Lady Lancers almost batted around twice in the decisive sixth when they smacked five doubles and took advantage of three Ada errors.

Lincolnview added four singles, two of them shots off the fence, in the 11-run onslaught. They cranked four home runs and nine doubles in the contest.
