Icon announces area Christmas Eve services

Several traditional candlelight services planned

Here's the list of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services at area churches. Churches not listed should send information to: [email protected].

Ada First United Methodist will have a 5 p.m., family-friendly service, with its praise band as part of the service. Then, at 11 p.m. will be the traditional Christmas eve candlelighting service. The church is located at 301 N. Main St. Rev. Brandi Rigsby is the pastor.

Here's what's happening at local Ada and Alger churches over Christmas week:

The First Baptist Church of Ada will have a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec 24. A Christmas Day Gathering will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 25, with no sunday school. Rev. Jack Duffy is pastor. The church is located at 350 W. North Ave. (State Route 81).

HeartSong performs at Church of Christ Disciples on Dec. 22

Ada Church of Christ Disciples hosts Heartsong, a southern gospel group, on Sunday, Dec. 22, at 10:30 a.m., at the church, 316 S. Main St.

Noteworthy Community Choir to perform at Riley Creek Baptist

Riley Creek Baptist Church will be hosting the Noteworthy Community Choir this Sunday, Dec. 15, at 6 p.m.  

The choir, under the direction of Vicki Mills, will be performing a selection of sacred and secular Christmas music.

Riley Creek Baptist Church is located at 4950 Township Road, Bluffton.  This event is free and open to the public.

"Darkness into Light," Christmas cantata Sunday at First UMC

The chancel choir of Ada First United Methodist Church will perform the Christmas cantata ‘Darkness into Light,” during the 10 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 8, worship service.

The musical explores the journey and joy of the Christmas experience through familiar carols and new songs.
