Ada church provides Facebook Christmas church decoration tour

Ada First United Methodist Church posted a 2 and one-half minute video on its Facebook that shares its church decorations with the public.

The video went live on Sunday and begins with a visit to the church altar with a Christmas creche tableau of the birth of Jesus.

Soon the video takes viewers to a close up of a Christmas tree, red poinsettias and closes with a reflection of the main church window on the Christ child.

Bold Butterfly pattern quilt raffle underway

Ada First United Methodist Women are selling tickets for a quilt raffle and the drawing is Monday, Dec. 14. The quilt is a "Bold Butterfly" pattern.

Tickets are $2 for one and $5 for three. Tickets are available from Janet Roll, Cathy Smalley and Connie Fleming.

No "last Wednesday" community meal in November

The "last Wednesday" community meal hosted by St. Mark Lutheran and Sugar Grove United Methodist Church will not take place in November. Watch the Icon for an announcement concerning the December meal.

Clothing give-away Nov. 21 at Ada Church of Christ

Congregation says: "Come get some free clothing"

Ada Church of Christ, 316 S. Main St., will hold a clothing give-away from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 21.

The congregation invites persons from from Ada, Alger, Dunkirk, Dola and McGuffy  to "come and get some free clothing."

The event will have clothing from infant all the way up to adults. For additional information call 419-233-4476.

St. Mark Lutheran, Sugar Grove free community meal Wednesday

The congregations of St. Mark Lutheran and Sugar Grove United Methodist are working together to provide a free community meal – Last Wednesday Community Meal –  from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 26.

The meal is for carryout only and pickups are available at St. Mark, 125 Johnson St., Ada. Social distancing and safety protocol will be observed. 

This month's meal is baked spaghetti. There will be carry out service only and the meal is free and opened to the public.  Last month 61 meals were served.
