ONU to present lecture on ‘It All Started Here: A Veterinarian’s Perspective’

The Ohio Northern University Getty College of Arts & Sciences will present a lecture by Peter Haase, titled “It All Started Here. A Veterinarian’s Perspective: How My Degree from ONU Made Me a Lifelong Student,” in the Dicke Forum on Monday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m.

 

The event is free and open to the public.

On the field

The Ada High School marching band performed on the field at Ohio Stadium on Oct. 12. The band received an Excellent at the event. A story below tells about the competition.

The Ada High School Marching Band performed their competition show titled “Invasion: The Mystery of Stonehenge” Saturday at The Ohio State University Stadium as part of the 2013 Buckeye Invitational.

Thirty-two other schools competed in this invitation-only competition. Each school competed to receive a rating through a system established by The Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA).

Men's golf rallies for 4th place finish at Taylor Invite

The Ohio Northern men's golf team rallied with a solid second round to finish tied for fourth out of eight teams at the Taylor (Ind.) Invitational Monday and Tuesday at the Egypt Valley Country Club.

The Polar Bears (23-17-1 overall), responded with a 14-over par 302 on Tuesday after posting a 33-over par 321 in Monday's opening round of the 36-hole tournament.

Sophomore Brandon Lambert  led Ohio Northern with a 4-over par 76-72—148 on the par-72, 7111-yard course.

Junior Andrew Quintrell  and freshman Blaine Ricketts  tied with 157s and sophomore Rick Deichert  finished with a 161.

ONU soccer teams "Kicks for a Cause" on Saturday

The Ohio Northern men's and women's soccer programs have joined forces again to host the fourth annual "Kicks for a Cause" fundraiser.

The event, which raised close to $1,000 last year, will take place during the OAC double header against Baldwin Wallace on Saturday, Oct. 12.

The Kicks for a Cause event began as a way to raise awareness and give back towards all forms of cancer.

All of the proceeds from the event will benefit the American Cancer Society.

Both the men's and women's teams will warm up in Kicks for a Cause t-shirts, which were designed by sophomore women's soccer team member Hannah Moloney.
