Cessna Minutemen 4-H
By Jessica Breidenbach

The Cessna Minutemen met on Tuesday, June 17th.  The club was given a tour of the Van Deurzen Dairy operation near Alger.

Members got to see the carousel milking system that is used, as well as the barns that house the over 5000 cows at the facility. Following the tour, club President, Zac Breidenbach called the meeting to order.  There were 14 members present. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Wesley Lowery and the 4-H pledge was led by Jessica Breidenbach.

A familiar Ada family is pictured on the brochure promoting the Blanchard Valley Health System's new regional cancer center. The family is David, Jami, Ian and Nora Dellifield.

This winter the Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) Board of Trustees unanimously approved plans to build a $4.25 million comprehensive regional cancer center, to adjoin the radiation therapy center on the EasternWoods campus in Findlay.

“Dance is the hidden language of the soul”

The Ada Icon enjoyed Rhythm in Motion Dance Centre recital over the weekend at Ada High School. It was the culmination of six months of hard word by the performers.

This year’s theme was “Stories in a Dancer’s Soul.”  We saw lots of young talent and students expressing themselves through all kinds of motion. We’d like to share some of what we watched with Icon viewers.

Here’s a series of photos of the recital by Icon photographer Bailey Bowers.

15 Minutes with Levi Klingler, 2013 AHS Graduate- Part One
By Bailey Bowers

What have you been up to since your graduation from Ada High School last May?
I'm home for the summer working at Honda Transmission in Russells Point as a co-op. In the fall, I'll return to The Ohio State University in Columbus where I'm studying mechanical engineering.

Brenda Purdy (center), winner of the Ada Music Boosters spring fund-raising raffle, claimed her prize at the Community Markets’ Ada store Friday morning by doing a 90-second shopping spree.

Brenda selected her daughter-in-law, Brandi Purdy, to run through the store on her behalf, and had the support of her grandson, Holden Purdy, at the event.

Bev Lenhart, of Community Markets, was the cashier. The Boosters thank the members of the community for a successful and award-winning school year for Ada’s many music education and performance-based programs.

Several Ada High School grads and students from neighboring communities are among 2014 graduates of Ohio Northern University. Here’s the list of area graduates:

Kyle Baker, son of Kent and Kathryn Baker, 502 Pleasantview St, Ada, received the Bachelor of Science in exercise physiology.

Baker was active in Phi Epsilon Kappa health, physical education and sports honorary, the men's football team, the Pre-Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Club and the men's basketball team. Baker is a graduate of Ada High School.
