Stephen Wilson was retired from Imperial Cup

Stephen C. Wilson, 66, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021, at 7:24 p.m. at his residence in Alger.

Stephen was born on April 27, 1955, in Kenton, Ohio, to the late Jack and Rosealie Wilson. He is survived by his two children: Carrie Wilson and Micheal Wilson; and his two nephews: Kenny Wilson and Blake Wilson.

Stephen retired after 30 years working as an electrician for Imperial Cup International Paper Company. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served during the Vietnam War.  Stephen also served in the National Guard. He was a lifetime member of the Amvets Post 1994 of Kenton.

Glenn Fields was a former resident

He was active in several Ada community organizations • Graduated from Ada HS and Ohio Northern

Former Ada resident, Glenn C. Fields, passed away May 6, 2021, in his home at Fairview Park, Ohio.

Glenn was born in Chicago, Illinois, on Oct. 11, 1940, to the late Earl and Jean Fields.

After some early years in Milford, Ohio, the Fields family moved to Ada to open the Fields Bakery on Main Street.

It was here, in Ada, that Glenn spent the majority of his life. He learned at a young age, the value of hard work, loyalty, service, and teamwork, in regards to family, friends, and community.

Jackie Williams was a former commander of Ada VFW post

 Jackie Williams, 72, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at 9:10 a.m. at his residence in Ada.

He was born on July 23, 1948, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Harry and Marguerite “Maggie” (McElroy) Williams.  Jackie was previously married to Melanie Jettinghoff.

Jackie retired from Durez in Kenton.  He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War.  He was a life member and former post commander of the Ada VFW Post #9381.

Conrad Hughes was retired from Conrail

Conrad W. Hughes, 91, passed away peacefully at Kenton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in the presence of loving family on Wednesday, May 26, 2021.

He was born in Lima, Ohio, on Nov. 13, 1929, to the late Rush and Ruth (Gossard) Hughes. He married Ronda L. Underwood on Feb. 14, 1950, and she survives in Kenton.

Also surviving are his children: Mike (Ione) Hughes of Kenton, Susan (Jerry) Lupfer of Groveport, Greg Hughes of Put-in-Bay and Angela Pifer of Rushsylvania; a brother, Don (Connie Lou) Hughes of Bellefontaine. 

Graveside service planned for James Cole

 James Cole, 102, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, in Brownstown, Indiana.   

He was born on Sept. 1, 1918, in Alger, Ohio, to the late Turner and Merkie (Perkins) Cole. On April 16, 1938, James married Margaret J. Matheny, who preceded him in death on April 16, 2014.   

Graveside services May 22 for Jerry and Jud Dearth

Graveside services for Jerry and Jud Dearth will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021.  Following the services, there will be a luncheon/open house to celebrate their lives at the Ada VFW from noon to 2 p.m.
