Alice Bucher was a dispatcher for Ada Police Department
Alice E. Bucher, age 105, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 at 4:40 AM at Vancrest of Ada.
She was born on August 14, 1916 in Lima, Ohio to the late Harry W. and Mary Alice (Dinan) Thompson. On September 12, 1936 Alice married A. Dale Bucher and he preceded her in death on May 10, 1995.
Alice retired after working for 25 years from Triplett, Bluffton. She was also a dispatcher for the Ada Police Department. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ada. Alice served as a Boy Scout Leader and Cub Scout Leader. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds Fan, and enjoyed fishing. In 2019 Alice moved to the assisted living in Vancrest of Ada. The family would like to thank the staff at Vancrest and Putnam County Homecare and Hospice for the excellent care she has received.
She is survived by her two sons: James P. (Patricia) Bucher of Lima and John A. (Nancy) Bucher of Indian Lake; and ten grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and twenty-two great-great grandchildren.
Alice was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Smith, three brothers and a sister.
It was her wish to be cremated. A celebration of Life will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada with Marty Clum officiating. Burial of Ashes will take place at a later date in Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove.
Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada.
The family request no flowers and that memorial contributions may be made to the Ada Public Library and/or the First United Methodist Church of Ada.
