Carl Eugene Lawrence, age 82, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 4:37 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born on April 22, 1939 in Bluffton, Ohio to the late Paul and Elvira Lawrence. On September 13, 1959 Carl married Shirley Elaine (Vermillion) Lawrence and she preceded him in death on December 5, 1964.
Carl is survived by his two sons: Kerry (Lori) Lawrence of Hebron, Ohio and Kevin (Kelly) Lawrence of Harrod; two grandchildren: Scott (Kendra) Lawrence and Emily Lawrence; seven great grandchildren: Ava, Sam, Eli, Mia, Kye, Laila and London Lawrence; and a sister, Catherine Graber of Enid, OK.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Lawrence.
Carl retired after working for thirty-three years as a truck driver and was a lifelong farmer. He graduated from Harrod High School class of 1957. Carl attended the Harrod Christian Church. Carl enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, fairs and fair livestock projects. He was an avid Ohio State University fan.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the Harrod Christian Church, 273 South Main Street, Harrod, Ohio with Pastor Lynn Huffman and Pastor Riley Graham officiating. Burial will be in LaFayette Cemetery, LaFayette.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions may be made to the Harrod Christian Church, P.O. Box 168, Harrod, Ohio 45850 and/or Special Olympics Ohio, 3303 Winchester Pike, Columbus, Ohio 43232.
