Carol Slane Florist can get you ready for spring

Next week the local florist will have spring flowers in pots...think daffodils, crocus, tulips, hyacinths and more...a welcome sight.

New Leaf ready for St. Patrick's Day

Who says there's no such thing as a free lunch?

ReStore will begin providing free community lunches on Monday, March 9. Serving will be from noon to 1 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

The free lunch has been offered sporadically the past two months, but now will be available on a regular basis. Crock Pot Tuesday will continue, as before, with serving from 4 to 6 p.m.

Special Ada council meeting March 10

David Retterer, Ada mayor, has called a special meeting of the Ada council for Tuesday, March 10, at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers, with the purposes of considering a resolution and a pay ordinance.

 

Donna Daniels 1961-2015

Donna Daniels, 53 died on Friday, March 6, 2015, at 11:02 a.m. at Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Kenton.

She was born on Sept. 8, 1961 in Tompkinsville, Ky., to Glathey Copas and she survives in Tompkinsville, Ky. Donna married Joseph Daniels on Jan. 14, 1989, and he survives in Roundhead.

Also surviving are two sons: Jeremy (Angela) Copas of Glasgow, Ky., and Jason Copas of Bergin, Ky.; 2 step-sons: Joey Daniels of Garner, Kan., and Erik Daniels of Everett Wash.; and two daughters: Elizabeth (James) Barnett of Kenton, and Amy (Howard) Alden of Assaria, Kan,; and one brother: Willie Strode of Tompkinsville, Ky.: and nine grandchildren.

The sign on the door says "Coming Soon." Vape N Chill will be located just north of China King on South Main. It will sell vapor supplies and have a vapor lounge (think e-cigarettes, a.k.a. electronic cigarettes).
