Cinderella enchants youngsters during visit to Ada

Cinderella's visit to Ada on Saturday was a huge hit with youngsters 10 and under. (And with their parents who snapped lots of photos.)

Some youngsters were so enthrauled they couldn't speak. Others wanted to know where the prince was.

Cinderella has answers for every question and is just as charming in person as she is on the movie screen.

Her visit to Ada was during the Streamline Insurance Solutions and Wine and Design grand opening at 220 N. Main St. Ada.

Owners are Mark Southward, his daughter, Amanda Morrison, and Amanda’s husband Joe Morrison, who are from the Hardin Northern area.

Steve Johnson, who has served as ONU's pole vault coach for the past three years, said the event raised about $1,500 for athletic equipment.

The pole vaulters competed outside next to King-Horn Center on a day when Ada temperatures reached 90 degrees.  The vaulters included high school boys and girls, collegiate, and men and women open.

Among them was Tyler Orewiler of Bucyrus, a recent ONU grad who placed second in Division III nationals with a vault of 17 feet. He is now a med student in Marietta.

And we thought $2.05.9 was low!

The Ada Express Mart Marathon lowered gasoline to under $2 a gallon on Saturday morning. Rich followed suit that afternoon by dropping the cost of a gallon by 10 cents to match their local competitor. (Monty Siekerman photo)
