Streaking Lady Bulldogs sweep Pirates

BLUFFTON - The visiting Ada volleyball team swept Bluffton Tuesday night in a Northwest Conference match to record their 11th victory over the last 12 matches.

The 25-11, 25-15, 25-22 win improved the Lady Bulldog record to 14-6 overall and 6-0 in the NWC, tied for tops in the league with Columbus Grove. Meanwhile, Bluffton fell to 1-3 in the NWC with the loss.

Ada middle blocker/hitter Melina Woods knocked down 28 kills, made five digs, came up with two blocks and served an ace to pace the victors.

Junior setter Maddie Gossard passed out 23 assists and served three aces. Senior Haley Wyss contributed eight kills and three aces, while classmate Alyssa Vore added four kills.

Freshman Sidney Gossard dished up 10 assists and dealt one ace. Junior libero Olivia Alexander huatled up 11 digs while junior defensive specialist Naiti Newland added eight digs.

The Bulldog JV won the reserve battle 25-17, 28-26.

Ada returns home action Thursday to face second-place Lincolnview (10-6, 4-1 NWC). The Lady Bulldogs are 6-0 at home this fall, and improved to 5-4 on the road with the win at Bluffton.

In a statistical oddity, all 20 Ada varsity matches this season have been decided in straight sets.

Bulldog boys, Sheridan beat Rams

ADA - Behind a hat trick from Terry Sheridan, the Ada boys soccer team beat Upper Sandusky 4-1 Tuesday night in a makeup match.

The victory upped the Bulldog record to 7-4 overall and 3-2 in North Central Ohio Soccer Association play. 

Logan Williams added the other goal to support Sheridan's three-goal outburst. 

Will Allen, Chris Reyes and Jon Allen each passed out one assist. Keeper Ace Gamble made two saves in goal for Ada.

Ada hosts Cory-Rawson Thursday at 5 p.m.

Ada netters beat Woodward

TOLEDO - Visiting Ada defeated Toledo Woodward 4-1 in their final girls tennis match of the regular season Tuesday.

The Lady Bulldogs improved to 5-10 with the win.
