1991 Odyssey of the Mind team

In 1991 four Ada school teams competed in Odyssey of the Mind, a creative problem-solving competition.

Here is the Division One (grades K-5) team, which solved a problem called Transformation. Team members from left, with their winning medals are Liza McVicker, Andrea Szuch, Jessica Avellone, Aniko Ludanyl, Erin Downing, Amanda Reiss and Molly McCurdy.

Carl Luft, Ada businessman for the past 67 years, turned the keys to his shop on Lincoln Avenue, over to Tim Rodabaugh, bringing to a close one of the longest continuously operated businesses in the village.

In 1996-1997 Ada VFW Post 9381 sponsored a girls' softball team.

Ada Rotary Club beginnings

The Ada Rotary Club opened its membership to women in 1990. Karen Cooper, assistant to the law dean at Ohio Northern University, became the first women member when she was inducted into the organization by Dave Retterer, club president. Cooper is not entirely new to the Rotary, for she belonged to the Rotary Ann Club when her husband, Ken, was a Rotarian in Ft. Dodge, Iowa.
