Neda Ghoroghi is in her first season an assistant men's and women's swimming and diving coach at Ohio Northern University.
She comes to ONU after serving as an assistant swimming coach at the Miami Shores Aquatics Center in Miami (Fla.).
Ghoroghi has experience in multiple leadership roles including teaching swimming at the college, recreation, and club levels. She taught swimming at Central Michigan University and the University of Central Florida before joining Miami Shores.
She graduated with a master's degree in 2017 from Central Michigan University where she majored in Sport Administration.
Ohio Northern sophomore Lydia Cranmer was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week. Cranmer fired a final round career-low 74 to win Medalist honors and lead the Ohio Northern women's golf team to victory at the 8-team Bluffton Fall Classic Saturday and Sunday. The Polar Bears are 19-1 overall.
The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office has received a $26,000 grant for selective traffic enforcement and impaired driving enforcement efforts. The grant will pay for deputy overtime and related expenses.
The grant is from the U.S. Department of Transportation and is effective from Oct. 1 through Sept. 30, 2019.
Jeff Schulman, incoming Kiwanis district lieutenant governor, (left), receives a banner from Robert Day of Lima, the outgoing officer. The banner signifies that the Ada Kiwanis Club is home to the district lieutenant governor which includes clubs in St. Mary’s, Celina, Coldwater, Lima, and Ada. Schulman is a practicing attorney in Ada, Kenton, and Urbana and a former mayor of Ada. He joined Kiwanis 40 years ago and has served as local president twice and as district lieutenant governor previously.

They wear red hats and purple clothing, because they can and don’t give a hoot if the colors are outlandish. They simply gather for fun: to lunch, see a movie or play, shop. The Red Hat Society encourages women in their pursuit of fun, friendship, freedom, fulfillment and fitness in the quest to get the most out of life.
