Vendor registration deadline is Monday; the show is Oct. 20

The Ada Music Boosters will hold a craft show Saturday, Oct. 20, in the Ada High School gym.

The show is open to the community from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is $3.  For booth information, contact Lori Poling at [email protected]. Potential crafters may also open the printer-friendly booth application form at the bottom of the story.

Booth reservations are due by Monday, Oct. 1. A single booth is $35.

Harvest and Herb ticket winner

Carie Dotson  is the Ada Junior Civic League 50-50 Harvest & Herb ticket winner.  The annual fresh pecan sale is underway currently. Contact Jamie Wills at 419-236-4254 if interested in ordering. The club thanks the community for its continued support. 

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS — Juniors Chelsea Huppert and McKenna Jordan combined for 31 kills to lead No. 16-ranked Ohio Northern to a 25-23, 19-25, 25-20, 25-15 volleyball victory at John Carroll on Tuesday night at the DeCarlo Center.

The Polar Bears (11-3 overall) have now won their Ohio Athletic Conference opener for an impressive 25th consecutive season.

The Blue Streaks fall to 10-4, 0-1.

The Ohio Northern women's soccer team completed the non-conference portion of its schedule with a 2-0 victory over Wittenberg at Kerscher Stadium on Tuesday night.

 

The Polar Bears have won six straight matches, improving to 6-2-0 on the season. The Tigers fall to 2-5-2.

Sophomore Jenna Fuller (Countryside, Ill./Lyons Township) netted two goals to lead the Polar Bears. She has now scored in five consecutive matches, with eight goals in that span.

Junior goalie Meagan Grierson (Miamisburg) saved the lone Wittenberg shot on goal to earn her 26th career shutout.

BLUFFTON - The Ada boys soccer team lost at Northwest Conference foe Bluffton 4-1 under the lights Tuesday night.

Ada fell to 5-4 overall and 1-1 in the NWC with the defeat. The league-leading Pirates improved to 7-1-3 and 4-0 in the NWC with the victory.

Chris Reyes scored the lone Bulldog goal off of an assist from Brendan Sheridan.

Ada keeper Drew Hadley made 15 saves in goal.

The Bulldogs host NCOSA foe Riverdale Thursday night.

ADA - The Ada volleyball team had its 19-match Northwest Conference win streak snapped by visiting Crestview in a competitive sweep Tuesday night.

The Lady Bulldog spikers drop to 10-8 and 3-1 in the NWC after the 25-18, 25-23, 25-21 loss. Crestview improved to 9-3 and 4-1 in NWC play with the victory.

It was the first Ada league loss since the final match of the 2015 season vs. Columbus Grove. The purple and gold had won 26 of their last 27 NWC matches.

"We just were not able to finish sets," said Ada head coach Kyleigh Tabor. "We had leads early in the last two sets.
