John E. Collins, Jr., age 71, died on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 3:55 p.m. at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.

          He was born on March 29, 1947 in Kenton, Ohio to the late John Ernest and Cecile Mae (Baughman) Collins, Sr.  He was previously married to Colette Ann (Bibler) Mata.

          John retired as an air cargo clerk after 15 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed woodworking, sports, and watching his son at the rodeo.

He was a member of Ada Kiwanis Club for 60 years

Albert A. Baillis, retired ONU law professor, 94, died on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, at 10:58 p.m. at his residence in Ada. He was a member of the law faculty for 35 years. He was a member of the Ada Kiwanis Club for 60 years.

He was born on May 11, 1924, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Roy and Leona (Nouser) Baillis. 

He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Ada, and  was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a lifetime member of the Ada Kiwanis Club. 

Surviving is a nephew, Dan (Debra) Baillis of Cleveland. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Fred Baillis and Louis Baillis. 

ONU Theatre Department presentation

The ONU theatre department will present “Romeo and Juliet” Sept. 27 through Sept. 30 in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts. Performance times are 7:30 p.m. Sept. 27 through Sept. 29, with 2 p.m. matinee performances on Sept. 29 and Sept. 30.
