Red Hats visit Ada

Here they are—members of the Red Hat Society exiting Viva Maria’s restaurant after lunch on Thursday.

Members of the Society—who now number 30,000 in the USA plus others in 30 countries—gather monthly...just for fun.

They wear red hats and purple clothing, because they can and don’t give a hoot if the colors are outlandish. They simply gather for fun: to lunch, see a movie or play, shop. The Red Hat Society encourages women in their pursuit of fun, friendship, freedom, fulfillment and fitness in the quest to get the most out of life.

This chapter was organized 16 years ago. They call themselves Frankly Scarlet. The men aren’t left alone at home watching TV anymore because now they have formed a group. They call themselves The Romeos.
