3rd annual Reindeer Run Dec. 3

Two campus organizations will sponsor the third annual Reindeer Run at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, at King-Horn Fieldhouse. 

Mortar Board honorary and Kappa Alpha Theta sorority will sponsor the 5k and Kid Fun Run with a $15 registration fee, which will provide two or three stuffed polar bears to be given to children at local hospitals.

Cookie Contest

It's time to open the recipe box and warm up the oven for the annual cookie contest at the Festival of Trees. A dozen cookies are due at Community Health Professionals, 1200 S. Main, by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15, for judging in these categories: tastiest, best decorated, most unique, oldest family recipe, and Santa's favorite. Judges will evaluate taste, texture, appearance, and aroma. Get baking!

Brad Hurtig headline speaker at health - wellness expo

Nov. 16 at Kenton Armory

The inspirational story of Brad Hurtig, who overcame a devastating industrial accident when he lost both arms while a sophomore in high school, will be the headline speaker at a health and wellness expo on Thursday, Nov. 16, at the Armory in Kenton. He will speak at a noon luncheon. The expo runs from 10 a.m. until noon.

Lions Club sponsors fundraiser

The 5th annual USV Lions Club casino night fundraiser will be held from 6-11 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, at the McGuffey Conservation Club, 6773 TR 55.

Admission is $20 and includes meal and nonalcoholic drinks; $3,000 play money is included.

It's a holiday party on Saturday

10 consultants bringing clothing and other merchandise just in time for the holidays

A Ladies Luncheon will be held at ONU on Saturday, Nov. 11. The Luncheon is free, reservations are not required. Ten consultants, representing various companies with clothing and other merchandise, will be on hand from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The event will be held in the Affinity Room along Polar Bear Way. This is in the set of residence halls along West Lima Avenue.

Door prizes will be given, refreshments will be served, and there will be games.
Kelcy Musselman, organizer of the event, said, "This will be a good time to do some holiday shopping, meet friends and neighbors, and make new acquaintances."

Firefighters speak to preschool kids

Members of the Ada-Liberty Fire Department recently spoke to the children who attend the Liberty Village preschool at the Ada Schools. They talked about fire safety and what they do.
