Endangered Species aren’t just elephants, pandas and polar bears. There are also endangered species in Ohio: Lake Erie water snakes, Clubshell mussels, Karner blue butterflies, Eastern prairie fringed orchids, to name just a few.
On Sunday, March 4, Hancock Park District presents “Ohio’s Endangered Species: Open House” to learn about Ohio’s 28 threatened and endangered species through activities, displays and a craft.
The open house will take place at Oakwoods Nature Preserve’s Discovery Center from 1 to 4 p.m. All ages are welcome to participate. Registration is not required.

The Ladies Luncheon group will host a gathering on Saturday, March 3 at the Ada Visiting Nurses, 1200 S. State Route 235 in Ada. The event is free and open to the public from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The group includes local direct sales consultants who represent well-known companies, featuring personalized bags & totes, skincare and makeup, kitchen and household products, essential oils, jewelry and clothing, self-defense, home décor and health and wellbeing.

Allen and Hardin for Election Action and Democracy (AHEAD), a local citizen advocacy group, will hold its one-year anniversary celebration from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, in the Bluffton town hall.
"Over the past year, AHEAD has helped elect candidates, organized rallies, advocated for redistricting reform, and recruited hundreds of members," according to Maya Fischhoff of the organization.
The event is open to the public. It will include a presentation from Perry Bush, Bluffton University faculty member, who will speak about the role of citizen advocacy groups in the present political context.

Ada Schools kindergarten registration will be held from 8:45 until 3 p.m.during the week of March 12-16. Also, registration will be offered on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m.
Here are the details:
Your child does not have to attend registration. During registration you will be able to set up a time for your child’s kindergarten screening to be held May 7 or May 8. Your child will need to come with you for screening in May.

The Freed Center at Ohio Northern University presents five performances of "The Wolves," a play by Sarah Delappe.
Performance are from Thursday, Feb.22, through Sunday, Feb. 25. Individual performance times are listed at the bottom of this story.
This new play features a girls' indoor soccer team and offers a window into the world of adolescent female relationships. Nine girl warriors fiercely grapple with one another over issues great and small in a series of scenes that occur during pre-game warm ups.
