A little music in the park Friday until 7 p.m.

Bring a lawn chair, sit back and enjoy the outdoor conocert

Traditionally, the ONU Jazz Band plays music in Railroad Park the Friday before commencement. This year the instrumentals will give a casual performance from 5-7 p.m. Bring a lawn chair, sit back, and enjoy the outdoor concert.

“Oh the Places You’ll Go”

Ada’s Spring Fever Follies Friday night

The popular Ada High School Spring Fever Follies will be held Friday, May 11 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. 

This year’s Follies titled "Oh the Places You’ll Go" features songs about travel and the world.  Musical styles range from pop and rock to musical theatre with students performing solos, duets and large ensemble numbers.

 Eleven graduating choir members will be recognized during the program.  Over 45 Ada Junior Varsity Singers including student in grades 1-8 will again be a part of this year's program.

Bands, choirs perform Tuesday

The Ada 5th, 6th, and Junior High Bands as well as the 6th  grade and Junior High Choir will perform their final concert of the year on Tuesday, May 8 at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium.  The program is free.

 

In addition to the large ensemble performances, junior high and high school instrumentalists will perform solo and ensemble selections throughout the evening.

 

The Junior High Choir will sing Simple Gifts with soloist Dexter Woods,
Man in the Mirror, and Rocky Top.

 

Farm camp this summer in Findlay

While agriculture is still one of the largest industries in Hancock County, many are now several generations removed from the farm. 

How does our food get to the grocery store shelf or our dinner table? 

Children ages 7-12 are invited to attend Farm Camp at the Hancock Historical Museum,  June 26-29, 9 a.m.-noon daily, to explore our farming roots. 

Sarah Sisser, museum director, said, "We’ll learn the science behind our soil and water, plant and tend a garden, learn the many different uses of herbs we can grow at home, prepare and enjoy basic farm-to-table cooking, meet some of the animals on the farm, and raise our own barn. 

Apollo's floral shop flower sale May 8-11

Apollo Career Center's Floral Shop will begin its annual flower sale Tuesday, May 8, and run through Friday, May 11. The shop will be open daily 8:30-10:30 a.m. and 12:30-2 p.m. The greenhouses are full of annuals, perennials, and hanging baskets, and the shop has a large assortment of silk arrangements and collectibles just in time for Mothers' Day.

AHS Alumni Golf Outing planned

The Ada High School Alumni Association will have a golf outing on Saturday, July 9, at Colonial Golfers Club to assist the organization’s scholarship fund.
