The Ohio Northern University Observatory will be open to the public for a number of events this spring, according to Dr. Jason Pinkley, professor of physics and astronomy at ONU. These follow:
Friday, Feb. 14, 7--9- p.m. - "Venus, Goddess of Love": Cuddle up with your significant other under starry skies to see Venus, the most prominent planet in the evening sky.
Friday, Feb. 28, 8-10- p.m. - "Leap Days and Time": Celebrate Leap Day under a starlit sky and learn about how our calendar is linked to the starry sky.
Beatitudes community center is partnering with ONU’s HealthWise Pharmacy to offer blood pressure checks to patrons tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 7, between 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
These checks are part of a partnership offering free health screenings to residents in the community, according to Deb Curlis of Beatitudes, and Dr. Clay Miller of HealthWise.
The screenings will be every Friday at Beatitudes through May, between 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The partnership will also provide free vitamins to participants.

ONU School of Visual and Performing Arts presents ONU Choreographers Showcase in two performances this weekend at The Freed Center, according to Dylan Wood, director of the center.
Show times are 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 1, and 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 2.
The performances will showcase multiple dance genres, danced by a cast of over 40 guest artists and students.
From a depiction of commuters in rush hour traffic to the battle of the sexes, choreographers use the language of dance to tell stories that communicate and connect.
