Your invitation to a July 11 evening at The Inn at ONU

Craft beer, barbecue and grilled pineapple sundaes

Join The Inn at ONU for a casual craft beer and barbecue event on Saturday, July 11 at 6:30 p.m.

The Inn staff says, "Enjoy our relaxed atmosphere, live music, and timeless lawn games in our socially-distanced outdoor Garden Courtyard. Call 419-772-4112 for pricing and reservations. Seating is limited."

The evening includes includes:
• five or eight beer samples 
• a dinner buffet featuring St. Louis-style pork spare ribs 
• barbecue pineapple chicken 
• Italian sausages 
• baked potatoes 
• and The Inn's grilled pineapple sundaes

Ready for another parade?

A Red, White and Drive Through parade at Vancrest planned July 8

They called for a parade encore.

If you enjoyed the May parade at Vancrest Ada celebrating National Nursing Home Week, wait until July 8.  

A Red, White and Drive Through – oh, who thinks of up these clever titles? – is set for Wednesday, July 8, similar to the May parade. 

The community is invited to participate with cars, trucks, tractors, golf carts, practically anything that has wheels.  Parade line up is at 4 p.m. in the parking lot in front of Ada schools. The parade starts at 4:30 p.m.

Participants are encouraged to create signs, decorate vehicles in red, white and blue, and be prepared to honk and wave as residents will watch from  front-row seats.

Bluffton Ride to Remember goes virtual

You can sign up now and ride

The Bluffton Lions Foundation will host the 6th annual Ride to Remember in a virtual format this summer.

The public ride that was scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 11, will now be a ride that riders will complete on their own anytime from now until the end of July.

Maps with routes will be provided, but riders may also complete routes in their own communities, or through spinning indoors. The registration fee for the virtual ride will be a donation to the Bluffton Pathways Project, which will be collected during the online registration process.

Succulent and fairy garden workshop Saturday

New Leaf Lawn Landscape Garden Center, is accepting reservations for Saturday's
workshop on succulent planters and fairy gardens.

The Ada location workshop is at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 27. The Kenton location workshop is at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 27.

Ada's workshop is at 0395 State Route 235, Ada; Kenton's workshop is at 927 E. Columub St., in the Kenton Plaza.

Wildlife topic of June 22 evening garden program

The Hardin County Men’s Garden Club with the assistance of the Hardin County Master Gardeners host “An Evening Garden Affair” on Monday, June 22.  The event is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and will feature Marne Titchenell of The Ohio State University with a program about dealing with wildlife in the garden.  

Since the pandemic has prevented face to face programs, this Zoom virtual event will be available at no cost for gardeners to participate on their computer, smartphone, tablet, or attendees can listen in on their telephone.

Walk with a doctor - and a chat about dieting on Monday

DeAnna Carey, a clinical dietician, will be discussing 10 Ways to Improve your Diet and Tips for a Healthier Pantry. To register at go.osu.edu/hardinwwad prior to the event. After you register, you will receive information to join. 

Walk with a Doc a program started in 2005 to connect individuals with doctors while adding some exercise. 

During a Walk with a Doc program, a doctor will give a presentation on a topic relating to health and wellness. The doctor then leads a walk with participants at their own pace, while also having conversation.
