Free document shredding at Liberty National Bank

Attention, spring cleaners: Did you see our earlier announcement that Liberty National Bank is offering free document shredding this week, May 2 -7?

The bank at 118 S. Main, will have available locked containers for individuals to drop off unwanted paperwork to be destroyed. These containers will be available during office hours, Monday through Saturday, May 2-6.

Please limit the shred to 5 boxes, no larger than 20” wide x 10” high.

This is a free service to the community to help fight the growing concern of identity theft. It is estimated that as many as 9 million U.S. residents have their identities stolen every year.

May 8 events at The Cask Room include Senior Cabaret

The Cask Room, 127 S. Main St. will be hosting two events on Saturday, May 7.

4-6:00 p.m. The Cask Room will be closed for a private event, the Hardin County Democrats Fundraiser for Claire Osborne.

9:00 p.m. Ohio Northern University Musical Theatre 2022 Seniors will be perform their Senior Cabaret accompanied by Michael Jordan, ONU resident artist.

This is a change of date and time for the Senior Cabaret.

It must be spring: It's a Rotary BBQ

The Ada Rotary Club wil host a Chicken Barbecue from 4:30-6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19.

Menu and cost:

  • ½ chicken, baked beans, potato salad
  • $10 per meal

The meal wlll be prepared by Mike Bollinger, a.k.a. "Chicken at the Lake." Service is carryout and drive-thru only at Hays Insurance, 202 South Main St., Ada.

Free delivery is available for Senior Citizens or four or more dinners.

Ada Fish Farm will host Pond Clinic

Area residents are invited to a Pond Clinic at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Neil and Amy Dumbaugh’s pond, located at 1547 CR 50, Ada, Ohio. The clinic for pond owners and those thinking about creating a pond is sponsored by the Hardin Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) and OSU Extension, Hardin County.

This is an opportunity to ask questions about pond management and get expert answers.

Steve Fender, author of “Farm Pond Management, The Common Sense Guide” and owner of Fender’s Fish Farms in Baltic, Ohio will discuss pond management and pond fish stocking.

Bulldog boys fall to Leipsic

Playing at home, the Ada High School baseball team lost 11-1 to visiting Leipsic in a Northwest Conference game Monday evening, May 2.

The Bulldogs fell to 5-11 overall and 0-6 in the NWC with the defeat. Meanwhile, the Vikings improved to 11-5 and 5-1 in NWC play with the win.

Leipsic jumped in front 4-0 after two innings and never trailed. 

Ada's Levi Sousley pitched well into the sixth inning until he was relieved.

The Vikings extended the lead to 7-1 with three runs in the top of the sixth. Isiah Camareno hit an RBI double, and Ethan Zeisloft followed with a two-run double.
