Rheumatology Specialists of Northwest Ohio Welcomes Kai Quin, MD

Blanchard Valley Health System has announced that Kai Quin, MD, a physician specializing in rheumatology, has joined the health system's team at Rheumatology Specialists of Northwest Ohio. 

Dr. Quin earned a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, Michigan). He pursued a medical degree at The Ohio State University College of Medicine (Columbus, Ohio), where he also completed his internal medicine residency and rheumatology fellowship. Dr. Quin is board certified in both internal medicine and rheumatology.

Hooray for baby's first library visit

Jolene McCoy says "hooray" for her first visit to the Ada Public Library and its collections of children's books and toys. She attended the Monday drop-in play time for toddlers.

Faye Mason worked for Atlas Industries

Anzlas Faye Inmon Mason, age 79, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022, at Blanchard Valley Health System, Findlay.

She was born on October 20, 1942, in Flint, Kentucky to Charlie and Bertha (Cornett) Whitaker who preceded her in death. Faye first married Elmer Inmon Sr. and he died on April 17, 2003.  She later married H.L. Mason in June 2006, he preceded her in death on January 5, 2022.

Faye previously worked for Atlas Industries and RCA. She was a member of the LaFayette Missionary Baptist Church. 

Matthew Motter takes office as Mayor of McGuffey

McGuffey Mayor Matthew Motter (left) was sworn into office on January 10, 2022 by Village Solicitor John B. Neville. 

Motter was one of five candidates who ran for office and was elected with 45.45% of votes cast. McGuffey mayor Drake Krummrey resigned in April 2021. Terry Donnal was appointed as mayor for the unexpired term.

New youth services librarian at Ada Public Library

The Ada Public Library has a new youth services librarian, Chloe Rieder. She joined the staff the first full week of 2022.

The Icon sat down to talk with Rieder (pronounced “reader”) on a Monday morning when the library hosts drop-in toddler play. Rieder’s first guest was Jolene McCoy (pictured below), the daughter of Elspeth and Ray McCoy of Ada. This was Jolene’s first visit to the library and she had a marvelous time exploring the books and toys in the children’s area.

Rieder returned to her hometown of Jenera in 2021. She has a bachelor’s degree from Heidelberg University and a Master of Library and Information Science degree from University of Missouri-Columbia.
