Wilkie Wright, age 92, died on Thursday, February 08, 2018 at 6:50 a.m. at the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.
He was born on December 26, 1925 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to Birl and Clora (Hall) Wright who preceded him in death. On July 22, 1951 Wilkie married Susie Hicks and she survives in Piqua.
Wilkie retired in 1981 after working for 37 years at Sheller Globe, Superior Coach Division of Lima. He later worked for the Hardin County Highway Dept retiring in 2001. Wilkie attended the Alger United Baptist Church.

Ada resident Jeanne Previte announced on Facebook that Friday, Feb. 9, is her "retirement night" from Jeanne's Kitchen, 112 Vine St., Bluffton.
The evening's menu is appropriately Italian.
"We will have Italian antipasto appetizers, Italian wedding soup, Italian vegetable
salad, lasagna or cheese ravioli, Pete's sausage peppers and onions and home dessert," she said.
Dinner hours are 5 to 7:30 p.m. Reservations are suggested by calling 419-234-8650.

Paul Craun, member of the Ada Community Improvement Corp (CIC) and construction professional, announced that he has filed to run for Hancock County commissioner in the May 8 Republican primary.
He will be emphasizing “Leading Together” as the theme for his campaign, bringing together business, community and government.
He has experience in supporting local economic development groups and in working with many small and large businesses and community groups across northwest Ohio.

The No. 15-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team saw four athletes score in double-figures as the Polar Bears defeated Heidelberg 90-44 at the ONU Sports Center on Wednesday evening.
The Polar Bears improve to 20-2 overall, and 14-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Student Princes fall to 4-18, 2-13.
With the victory, Northern clinched one of the top-2 seeds in the OAC Tournament and will host a quarterfinal matchup at the ONU Sports Center on Tuesday, Feb. 20.

The Ohio Northern wrestling team celebrated Senior Night with a 27-13 victory over Muskingum on Tuesdayevening at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 9-9 overall and move to 3-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Muskies fall to 4-9, 0-5.
After Muskingum won the first three bouts and took an early 13-0 lead, freshman Schuyler Caprella (Harrod/Allen East) started a streak of seven consecutive victories with a 7-3 decision at 149 to get the Polar Bears on the board.

TIFFIN — The Ohio Northern men's basketball team grabbed 21 offensive rebounds and held off a late charge to win 74-67 at Heidelberg on Wednesday evening at Seiberling Gymnasium.
The Polar Bears improve to 16-6 overall and remain in the hunt for an Ohio Athletic Conference regular season title with an 11-4 record, while the Student Princes move to 9-13, 5-10.
Junior Ryan Bruns (Chickasaw/Marion Local) picked up his 10th double-double of the season and the 18th of his career with 19 points and 15 rebounds.

A. Wayne Kaiser, age 95, died on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at 6:20 a.m. at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born on June 16, 1922 in New Hampshire, Ohio to Victor and Madonna (Campbell) Kaiser, who preceded him in death. On March 27, 1948, Wayne married Phyllis Lenhart, and she survives in Harrod.
Wayne was a lifelong farmer and musician. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII.

Love chocolate? Who doesn't.
Ada Public Library's 6th annual chococlate bake-off should appeal to you. It's at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 10, at the library.
The rules to enter are simple and there's just one rule: bake or make something that showcases chocolate as the main ingredient and bring it to the library on Saturday by 10:45 a.m.
The winner will be decided by popular choice. Call or stop by the library to sign-up or just show up to enjoy a free dessert and help choose a bake-off winner.
Melia Santillanez and Elsie Allen won first place in last year’s bake-off. They entered a Texas sheet cake.
