Bluffton Hospital, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System, has recently acquired a Renuvion Surgical System Standards Apyx One Console.
The technology streamlines the process of plastic surgeries, making it possible for many patients to have a procedure to tighten skin added to their surgery rather than having to schedule a second surgery later.
The Blanchard Valley Health System Auxiliary scholarship application period is open and applications are available online to students in the Hancock County area planning to pursue a health-related career or field of study.
The purpose of the Auxiliary Scholarship is to financially assist local high school seniors in pursuing a health-related career. Heather Schalk, volunteer services manager, said that profession could range from dental hygienist to nurse to physician.
This year, 10 students will be awarded a one-time $1,000 scholarship. The scholarships are funded through the annual Auxiliary membership dues.
As a pain management provider, I’ve witnessed firsthand the profound impact that balanced and effective pain control can have on a patient’s quality of life. Pain management centers focus on addressing acute and chronic pain through a consultative, multidisciplinary approach that empowers patients and restores their ability to engage in daily activities. Achieving this requires a combination of tailored care plans, evidence-based treatments, and a strong patient-provider relationship.
Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) financial services associates are available to answer any questions or concerns regarding billing statements, including information about financial assistance that might be available.
The process of applying for financial assistance was recently simplified for the patient. BVHS has partnered with healthcare technology company Breez Health to streamline the application process.
Patients can now visit the BVHS website to apply and upload documents, which will then be sent to the Patient Financial Services (PFS) team.
Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) continues to look for dedicated volunteers to fill a variety of roles.
The organization updates its volunteer opportunities list regularly. Heather Schalk, volunteer services manager, said volunteers today often want flexibility. Some want to volunteer for several hours each week, while others might have less availability but ask to be on the list for a one-time opportunity, like a special event. Schalk meets with each new volunteer individually to get a sense of their interests, skills, and schedule.
