First Baptist Church VBS June 22-26

First Baptist Church of Ada, 350 West North Street, will hold Vacation Bible School June 22-26 from 6-8 p.m. This year's theme is "Jungle Safari" for ages 4 through 12.  All are invited to come.  Children must be potty trained.

Auglaize Bible Church VBS June 16-19

Auglaize Bible Church will hold Vacation Bible School called "Operation Sword & Shield," June 16-19 from 6-8:30 p.m. "Operation Sword & Shield" is open to children ages 4-12. They will enjoy singing, skits, action stories, crafts, and refreshments. Everyone is welcome.

The church is located at 2525 S. Phillips Road.

Make your own ice cream sundae June 17

Ada First United Methodist Church, 301 N. Main St., will hold an ice cream social from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, at the church.

The event is sponsored by the Ada First United Methodist Women.

Tickets are $6 for adults, and children 10 and under $4.

The menu includes sandwiches, brownies, sides, beverages and Dietsch's Ice Cream plus toppings.

Ada Soccer Assn. swim party June 28

The Ada Soccer Association will be host a swim party at the Ada Public Pool on Sunday, June 28, from 6-8 p.m. 

This is for soccer players and their immediate family members. 

Lincoln Highway Assn. meets in Delphos June 16

Topp Chalet, 229 W. Fifth St., Delphos, will host this month’s Lincoln Highway Association Western Ohio Chapter meeting at 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 16.

After attendees order dinner individually from the menu, a small business meeting will take place and then the group will travel to 327 S. Bredeick St. in Delphos around 7:15 p.m. to visit the former home of world renowned astronomer, Leslie Peltier.

Jack and Peggy Adams are the current owners of the home Peltier called "Brookhaven" and are in the process of updating and restoring the home to eventually turn it into a bed and breakfast.

It's more than just "Music on Main" Friday night downtown Ada

Get out your lawn chair and head to the depot park on Friday evening.

Music on Main returns to Ada Friday night, June 12, thanks to efforts of the Buy Ada First ad-hoc group.

Activities center around the depot park and visitors are encouraged to visit downtown businesses.

Here's the activities planned:
• 5 p.m. - Small business vendor show in the depot
• Free ice cream provided by Dietsche Brothers - until supply lasts
• 6 to 8 p.m. music by Kwik Fire - sponsored by Liberty National Bank
• Rotary Club chicken barbecue - pickup at Hays Insurance parking lot

The next Music on Main is Friday, July 10.
