Next ReStore senior dance June 24

The next senior dance at ReStore, is from 2 to 4 p.m., Wednesday, June 24. 

Walter Miller plays favorites during the dance, which is open to the public. ReStore is at 210 N. Main St.

International Paper nears completion of major expansion in Kenton

International Paper is nearing completion on the 250,000 square foot expansion at its Kenton manufacturing facility.

As final construction continues and new equipment begins installation, IP credits community organizations for being advocates behind growth for the company and 125 jobs that will be created in the Kenton community. Representatives from the Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance (HCCBA) and JobsOhio recently visited the facility for an update and tour of the project progress.

Ruby Richards 1949-2015

Ruby Richards, 65, died on Thursday, June,11, 2015, at 4 p.m. at The Inpatient Hospice Care Center – Community Health Professionals of Van Wert.

She was born on Nov. 20, 1949 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, to William and Hester (Prater) Wireman who preceded her in death. On Dec. 23, 1974, she married J. P. Richards and he survives in Harrod.

Ruby was a homemaker.

Food “to go” takes on new meaning after meeting Carlton Jaquess.

He’s the chef for The Cadets, and when the drum and bugle corps ends its spring training camp at Ohio Northern University on Sunday and heads toward Indianapolis to launch their summer touring season, Jacquess will go with them in his semi-trailer truck-turned-kitchen.

“It’s a gypsy-like lifestyle,” he said. “Most cooks couldn’t do this. They’d quit in the first week."

Liberty National Bank names Daniel A. DiBiasio to its board of directors

Daniel A. DiBiasio, president of Ohio Northern University, was named to the board of directors of Liberty National Bank at its May 12 board meeting.

During the annual meeting of the board on April 16, Terry Keiser retired from the Liberty National Bank Board of Directors. Keiser served on the board from April 15, 2004, to April 16, 2015, and was chairman of the board from May 14, 2013, to April 16, 2015.
