BFR hosts Columbus Crew camp Feb. 15

Bluffton Family Recreation will hold a Columbus Crew SC winter camp for youth ages 6 to 18 on Monday, Feb. 15. The camp takes place at BFR, 215 Snider Road, Bluffton, from 2 to 5 p.m.

Joseph Beagle, BFR director, said, “Crew SC winter camps series focus on player development through a core foundation of soccer skills in a challenging and fun learning environment. Each camper is sure to walk away with a positive experience and high quality training from the only professional soccer club in the region.”

Were you in AHS Pep Club?

Once upon a time - in an era before girls' athletics, in the early 1970s, there existed an Ada High School Pep Club.

Ada council set to reorganize for 2016

Ada council has some New Year appointments to make at its first meeting of 2016, slated for 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 4.

Among those decisions is selecting a council president and seven committee chairs:
• Finance
• Street
• Building/grounds
• Safety
• Personnel
• Utility
• Economic development

Plus, council members will chose representatives to the ambulance board, planning commission, negotiation committee enterprise zone and enterprise review committee.

All this is in addition to the regular agenda, which is an attachment at the bottom of this story.

The tea will be ready soon

Alexandra Boyadzhiev, Ada High School senior, like to drink tea. So, in art class, she decided to create her on tea strainers. She says that she got the idea from tea strainers she saw in the Ten Thousand Villages shop in Bluffton. Here's a view of Alexandra at work in art class.
