Summer 2024 events reviewed by council

The June 18 regular meeting of the Ada Council included several conversations about recent and future events in the Village.

Science Fun program on June 25

The Ada Public Library will hold two sessions, grouped by age, of a Science
Fun day with long-time Ada teacher Dave Lusk on Tuesday, June 25.

Science experiments will be tailored to two age groups.

  • A session for pre-K through third graders will be held from 1-4 p.m.,
  • A fourth grade through eighth grade event is from 4-8 p.m.

The APL invites students from those incoming grade brackets to come and
experience the wonders of science under the tutelage of Mr. Lusk.

Ada and most Rite Aid pharmacies in Ohio to close

The Ohio Captial Journal  has confirmed that most Rite Aid pharmacies in Ohio will close. Employees at stores to close, including those in Ada, are told not to speak to the media.

The date of the Ada store closure has not been announced, but employees are confirming the closure off the record.

The Ohio Capitol Journal reports that prescriptions will be transferred to Walgreens. The closest Walgreens to Ada is in Lima, 12.8 miles away.

Charles E. Coates was a farmer

Charles "Charlie" E. Coates, 84, passed away June 20, 2024, at Vancrest of Ada.
