2024 NOVFA Convention raffle winners announced

The 150th NOVFA Convention and the Ada-Liberty Township Fire Department have announced the following raffle winners, drawn on Saturday, June 15.

ODOT announces SR 235 ramp closures at U.S. 30 during week of June 17

U.S. 30 between Interstate 75 and State Route 235 is restricted to one lane for concrete pavement repairs. The following ramp closures will also take place:

Free summer programs at Friendship Gardens in Kenton

The Hardin County OSU-Extension Master Gardener Volunteers are hosting three free monthly summer garden programs at the Friendship Gardens of Hardin County, which is located at 960 W. Kohler Street in Kenton.

The programs will begin with the “Raised Bed Gardening” event June 18, followed by “Growing with Intentions” July 16.

Another program on “Flower Arrangements” will be held August 20. All programs will begin at 6 p.m. and end by 7 p.m.

These events are free to attend and open to the public, rain or shine, with the featured program inside the shelter house at the Friendship Gardens with seating.

Ada Council agenda for June 18

The Village Of Ada will hold a Council Meeting on Tuesday, June 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building, Council Chambers 115 W Buckeye Ave, Ada, Ohio

At this moment, the Icon would gladly have traded a camera for a swim suit. Between NOVFA activities on June 15 we stopped by the Village of Ada pool for a few photos and an Icee. 

Excessive heat watch issued by National Weather Service, June 17-21

The National Weather Service has issued the following urgent weather message for the forecast region including Ada: Excessive Heat Watch in effect from Monday morning (June 17) through Friday evening (June 21). Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values around 100 degrees.
