Soup for a good cause

Presbyterian dinner and auction supports members in mission projects

Story and photos by Monty Siekerman
Ada Presbyterians served soup for a good cause at their fellowship hall on Tuesday evening.

Proceeds from the dinner and auction will support local members going to one of the church’s missions. Although the exact mission has not been decided yet, the local congregation has, in the past, provided funds for local members to assist with missions as far away as Romania and Texas.

The supper of eight homemade soups draws a large crowd each year from not only members of the church but also from the Ada community. The suppers have been held prior to Christmas for more than 20 years.

Presbyterians hold soup supper and auction tonight

The Ada Presbyterian Church will hold a soup supper and auction beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4. Dick Hubbard, retired president of Liberty National Bank, will be auctioneer. Proceeds will benefit missions. All are welcome. The 8-soup supper is $6 for adults and $3 for children.
