First United Methodist Church will conduct a drive-thru Ash Wednesday service as it did last year, according to Rev. Brandi Rigsby, pastor.
This year Ash Wednesday is March 6. It marks the beginning of the Lenten season.
“Last year the congregation hosted a drive-thru Ash Wednesday service, and over 65 people participated in the imposition of ashes,” she said.
“We will, once again, host a drive-thru Ash Wednesday service that allows many to receive ashes and a blessing, who otherwise would not be able to attend a traditional Ash Wednesday service.”
Grace Gospel Church, 321 N. Gilbert St., Ada, will celebrate the completion of its new fellowship hall later this month, according to Trent Boedicker, pastor.
The celebration is Sunday, Feb. 24. A special worship service is at 10:30 a.m. Following the service will be an open house with a tour of the new facility.
