Junior Lauren Rife, junior Kelsi Wurm and sophomore Kristin Cellentani have been named Academic All-OAC in women's tennis in voting done by the league's 10 faculty advisors.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must be sophomore standing, maintain varsity status and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50.
Rife, a biology/pre-med major, earns her second Academic All-OAC honor.
This season, she posted a 26-10 record and picked up her 100th career win on Apr. 27 against Muskingum.
Wurm went 13-2 in singles play on the season and was 4-3 in doubles, for an overall record of 17-5.
Sophomore wrestler Cody Lovejoy has been named Capital One At-Large Academic All-District 7, as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Lovejoy, a pharmacy major, will now move on to the national ballot, with All-Americans due to be announced later in the month.
Earlier this year, Lovejoy was honored at the NCAA III Championships with the Elite 89 award, which is given to the student-athlete with the highest GPA at the championships site.
He went 32-13 on the season and led the team with 17 pins.
Lovejoy also qualified for the NCAA III Wrestling Championships at 285 pounds.
Seven of the nine proposed Ohio High School Athletic Association constitution and bylaw revisions passed as voted upon by OHSAA member schools, Commissioner Daniel B. Ross, Ph.D., has announced. Highlighting the voting was approval of a significant change to the transfer bylaw, but a proposal to change how schools are placed into their tournament divisions for team sports failed for the third consecutive year. Overall, changes were approved to two constitution items and five bylaw items.
