AHS boys soccer edged by Cory

RAWSON—The visiting Ada High School boys soccer team lost a 2-1 battle at local rival Cory-Rawson in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association match at Spike Berry Field Thursday night.

The Bulldogs fell to 4-5-3 and 0-4 in NCOSA play with the defeat.

The Hornets improved to 4-5-4 overall and 2-0-2 in NCOSA action with the win.

Ada visits winless WBL foe Van Wert (0-10-1) Saturday, October 1, at 11 a.m.

AHS volleyball falls to Wildcats

The visiting Ada High School volleyball team lost a four-setter to Vanlue in non-conference play on Thursday night, September 29.

The Lady Bulldogs won the first set 25-23, but then dropped the last three 19-25, 13-25, 14-25 dropped the Ada season record to 9-9 overall. Vanlue improved to 7-7 with the win.

Ada senior libero Courtney Sumner came up with 28 digs.

Junior setter Autumn Andreasen doled out 24 assists, made a dozen digs, made two blocks and served an ace.

Junior Daicy Robinson hammered 10 kills and made two blocks to pace 

AHS football hosts Spencerville Sept. 30

This Friday, September 30, the Ada High School football team will host struggling but occasionally explosive Spencerville in week seven.

The Bearcats sport the identical records as Ada at 1-5 overall and 0-3 in the NWC. They have lost four in a row after being trounced by league leader Allen East (5-1, 3-0 NWC) last Friday by a 58-14 count.

AHS girls soccer lose 8-1 to C-R

MT. CORY--The Ada High School girls soccer team lost to Cory-Rawson 8-1 in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association match Wednesday evening, September 28.

The Bulldog girls fell to 4-7 overall and 0-4 in NCOSA action following the defeat.

The Hornet girls improved to 3-7-1 and 1-3 in NCOSA play with the win.

Ella Marshall netted the lone Ada goal on a penalty kick.

Ada keeper Lexi Poling was credited with seven saves in goal, while teammate Karmen Hall made six stops.

Ada tries to stop a seven-game losing streak when they host non-league foe Van Wert (0-14) Saturday at 10 a.m.

AHS volleyball loss to Delphos-Jefferson in four

The Ada High School volleyball team lost a close four-setter at Delphos Jefferson in Northwest Conference action Tuesday night, September 27.

The 25-22, 11-25, 25-21, 25-19 defeat dropped the Bulldog season record to 9-8 overall and 1-5 in NWC play. DJ improved to 5-10 and 2-2 in the NWC with the minor upset win.

Ada senior libero Courtney Sumner came up with 39 digs and served a pair of aces.

Junior setter Autumn Andreasen doled out 32 assists, made 13 digs, hit five kills and served two aces.

ONU women's golf shatters school 36-hole record

TIFFIN—The Ohio Northern women's golf team shattered the school's 36-hole record by a full 10 strokes en route to a victory at the Heidelberg Fall Invitational on Friday and Saturday, September 16-17, at  Mohawk Golf & Country Club.

The Polar Bears (21-1 overall) fired a 314-315—629 to break the previous record of 639 to win the 8-team tournament by 17 strokes.

Sophomore Rhianna Firmstone (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) won Medalist honors for the first time in her career with a 74-79—153 on the 5921-yard, par-72 course to finish first by three strokes in the 60-women field.
