Women’s Indoor Track and Field posts 9 top-20 finishes on final day of Ashland Open

February 4--The Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team posted nine top-20 finishes on the final day of the Jud Logan Light Giver Open on Saturday at Ashland University's Niss Athletic Center.

The 4x400 relay team of sophomore Olyvia Ashbrook (Johnstown/Northridge), juniors J.J. Herron (Miamisburg) and Sydney Goodrich (Romeo, Mich.) and freshman Kaitlin Prusnek (Findlay) posted a 13-place finish in 4:24.10.

Sumner nets 28 in home finale

The Ada High School girls basketball team rallied from a huge early deficit to beat scrappy visiting Waynesfield-Goshen 59-51 on Tuesday, February 7, in their hard-fought Senior Night home season finale.

W-G raced to a 14-0 lead, but Ada patiently chipped away and took its first lead at the third-period buzzer, then never trailed again.

Extended deadline for spring youth soccer: 11:30 p.m. February 7

Due to the amount of registrations we’ve received, we are extending late registration until 11:30 pm on Tuesday, February 7! Registration must be completed and payment received before this time. This will be the last chance to sign up until fall.

Bulldog boys seeded 8th in basketball sectional, with Ridgemont rematch

Ada beat Gophers in season opener

The Ada High School boys basketball team’s season comes full circle to play Hardin County rival Ridgemont in the Div. IV sectional first round Tuesday, February 21 at St. Marys.

Ada (7-11) is seeded eighth in the 12-team sectional, while the Gophers (6-12) are 10th.

The Bulldogs won at Ridgemont in the 2022-23 season opener back on November 25 by a 60-47 score. Ada has won the last two meetings against the Gophers. 

Ridgemont last beat Ada in overtime in the 2020-21 opener at home. The Bulldogs returned the favor in the opener last season in Ada, winning by a point on a Spencer Wall runner at the final buzzer.

The winner advances to face top seed Marion Local (16-3) Friday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. in St. Marys.

Ada High School hosts wrestling invitational

Two Bulldogs finish 2nd

The Ada High School wrestling program hosted a 17-team invitational meet Saturday, February 4.

Bulldog junior Clayton McClain captured second in the 144 lbs. weight bracket.  Ada freshman Silas Riblet also finished a strong second at 106 lbs. Bulldog sophomore Liam Vieira ended up a solid fourth in the 132 lbs. class.

Elgin won the event with 297 points, well ahead of Bucyrus in a distant second with 190.5. Ada took 10th with 83 points.

AHS boys basketball loss to Devils

The visiting Ada High School boys basketball team lost 73-37 at Arlington in a non-conference game Saturday night, February 4.

The Bulldogs trailed 12-5 after one period and 32-13 at halftime. The Red Devils won the second half, 41-24.

Ada fell to 7-11 after the loss. The Red Devils improved to 14-5 with the convincing win.
