The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce shared this yummy snapshot among other photos of Main St. businesses Ruthie’s and The Mercantile On Main dressed up for the holidays. November 26 was "Shop Small Saturday" across the nation. As villagers, we know we can support small businesses every day!

AHS boys basketball rallies past FJ for 2-0 start

FORT JENNINGS–The visiting Ada High School boys basketball team rallied late to win a non-conference battle over Ft. Jennings 44-41 Saturday night, November 26.

Ada starts the season 2-0 with their second straight road win in as many nights. The Musketeers fell to 0-2 with the defeat.

AHS boys basketball buries Gophers in opener

Visiting Ada led throughout the game yet had to stave off an early fourth quarter Ridgemont rally to defeat their Hardin County rival 60-47 in the Bulldog boys basketball season-opener Friday night, November 25.

Bulldog senior Ethan Murphy tallied a career-high 23 points to lead Ada to their second straight season-opening win over the Gophers. 

Ada led 17-11 after the first period and stretched the margin to 32-21 at halftime. Murphy fired in 15 points by intermission.

"Murphy carried us offensively in the first half," said second-year Ada head coach Vince Halliday.

Dortha Marie Hervey worked in the concession business

Dortha Marie Hervey, age 94, of Lima, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 11:15AM at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

She was born on April 30, 1928, in Mercy County, Ohio to the late Arlie and Cora (Webb) Piehl, Sr. On November 27, 1947, Dortha married Joseph “Joe” Hervey, who preceded her in death on October 6, 1998.

Karen Louise Smith was a homemaker

Karen Louise Smith, age 76, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 7:15 a.m. at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital, Murfreesboro, TN.

She was born on May 18, 1946, in Hardin County, Ohio to the late Joe S. and Betty J. (Doersam) Plummer.  On September 5, 1967, Karen married Donald Smith and he survives in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
