A capella anthem captured at AHS basketball game

Basketball fan Samuel Albert recorded an improptu performance of the national anthem at the November 29 Ada High School girls basketball game vs. Hardin Northern. When the pre-recorded version didn't play, the audience filled in enthusiastically with an a capella version.

Samuel posted his appreciation and video on Facebook HERE.

AHS girls basketball stymies Bears, earns 1st win

By Cort Reynolds

The Ada High School girls basketball team defeated visiting county rival Hardin Northern 39-25 behind a fourth quarter defensive stand in a hard-fought matchup Tuesday night, November 29.

Ada led 25-23 heading to the fourth period, and held Northern without a field goal in the final quarter to win going away.

The Bulldogs improved to 1-2 with their first victory, while HN fell to 1-1 with the non-league defeat.

The Polar Bears sank just one field goal in the final 10 minutes against the stingy Ada defense.

Futsal in Harrod begins January 15

Soccer players are invited to play Futsal in Harrod beginning January 15.

Coach Todd Jennings from Allen East High School is starting a Futsal league for players in grades K-12.  Play will be held at the Harrod Event Center (old school building) on Sunday afternoons.

Futsal is small-sided game on a small field with small goals,  usually 3v3 up to 6v6.  These games will be on a basketball court.  Typically there aren't goalies either.

Indoor soccer shoes or tennis shoes will work fine.  You will need shin guards, water, and your own ball.  Age appropriate Futsal balls will be provided for the game sessions.

The $5 cost is per session.
