Auditions for Noteworthy Community Choir takes place soon

Audition for choir?  At my age?

Well, yes!  Noteworthy Community Choir has an inter-generational choir (Expressions) that meets Monday evenings from 7:15 - 9:15 p.m.

"We have singers ages 14 through 70+ and have had a wonderful time serving our communities through song," says Vicki Mills, director.

"New singers are welcome, and the audition is short and sweet, consisting of  singing 30 seconds of your favorite song, and running a few exercises to determine your range and musicianship skills." 

Bridge work completed on Hardin County Road 50

Hardin County Road 50 (Liberty Township Road 55-County Road 65) is now open, according to the Hardin County Engineer's office.

The road was previously closed due to bridge replacement.

No school in Ada on Monday

Ada students won't be in school on Monday, Sept. 16. According to Meri Skilliter, superintendent a staff professional development day is planned for the staff.

Here's what you need to know about I-75 and U.S. 30 road work for the week beginning Sept. 16 as it affects local traffic patterns.

Interstate 75 - Hancock County
Interstate 75 northbound at Hancock county Road 99, Findlay, will experience shoulder closures through the work zone for erosion repair at the interchange.

All ramps at the interchange are expected to be maintained throughout the project. Work is being performed by Miller Contracting Group, Inc., Ottoville.

ReStore now Beatitudes

Grand reopening held Tuesday afternoon in downtown community center

Renaming an established business can be a difficult task.

Ada’s ReStore board approached the task head on and chose a new name that best describes the community center’s purpose: Beatitudes. The tag line for the new name follows: Where blessings are iven and hope is restored.

The new name is from Matthew chapter 5, also known as the Sermon on the Mount.

As the center’s director, Robert Kanzig, told the audience of nearly 75 persons who attended the re-opening, “We chose the name after significant discussion. We believe it represents who we are and what we are trying to do.”

Fundraising chairman Bryan Marshall spearheaded the effort to refurbish the four decayed park courts. Grants had to be applied for and a fundraising campaign was begun to raise the needed local dollars.

A project that began in the spring of 2017 came to full fruition as the Ada park tennis courts received their official opening on a community Fun Night Monday, Sept. 9.    

Fundraising chairman Bryan Marshall spearheaded the effort to refurbish the four decayed park courts. Grants had to be applied for and a fundraising campaign was begun to raise the needed local dollars.

"They say it takes a village to raise a child, but a village and then some were needed to refurbish the Ada Park tennis courts," Marshall noted. "As a result of everyone's efforts, tonight we can see the fruits of our labors.
