Ada CIC will act on real estate purchase agreement

Ada Boyz, LLC, interested in purchase property in Ada Industrial Park

Ada Community Improvement Corp (CIC), will hold a special meeting at noon,  Wednesday, Oct. 23, in the Depot, according to Eileen Peterman, CIC secretary.

The meeting is to "present a motion for CIC to enter into an agreement consistent with the general terms set forth in the real estate purchase agreement between Ada Boyz, LLC, and Ada Area Community Improvement Corporation."

The property is located at the Ada Industrial Park.

This meeting follows a special Ada council meeting held Thursday, which centered on the same subject.

 

 

Craft show, cemetary tours this weekend

Ada Music Boosters fall craft show and Ada Historical Society's Woodlawn Cemetary tours highlight events in the community this weekend.

The craft show is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the 1986 school gym. General admission is $3.

Special Ada council meeting tonight

A special Ada council meeting is set for 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019  pm in the Ada Historic Depot.  The purpose of the meeting is to discuss transfer of property and the water treatment plant operator position, according to Angela Polachek.

Kiwanis invites you to its Halloween parade

Monday, Oct. 28, line up behind the police station

Ada Kiwanis Club invites Icon viewers to join this year's Halloween parade. It is Monday, Oct. 28

Line-up is beind the municipal building on Buckeye Street. Registration is at 5:30 p.m. and the parade is at 6 p.m.

Costume categories follow:
• Prettiest
• Scariest
• Most original

Costume judging by age groups:
• Pre-school and Kindergarten
• 1st and 2nd grades
• 3rd and 4th grades
• 5th and 6th grades
• Groups any age and pets
• Adults (most original only)
• Ada HS band

Judging takes place at the Ada Depot, where the parade concludes.

Ada Rotary invites you on a family-friendly bike ride

Oct. 26 fundraiser for medical equipment and supplies for use abroad

The Ada Rotary will host a Family Fun Ride from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 26, on the Rotary Riverwalk/Ottawa River Bikeway in Lima, according to Laurie Laird of the club.

“The ride will be a fun, family-friendly bicycle ride that will help us raise awareness of and funding for M.E.S.A.,” she said. “It will begin and end at the Ottawa Metro Park off of State Route 81.”

M.E.S.A. stands for Medical Equipment Supplies Abroad and is a service project for the Rotary District 6600, which Ada’s club is a part of.
